The California Valley Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ is lead by Interim Bishop Jerry W. Macklin and Supervisor LuAnn Perry and headquartered in Fresno, CA. It's compromised of 45 churches covering over 300 miles of central California from Bakersfield to Stockton. In a mixture of urban, rural and suburban communities, the jurisdiction ministers to thousands of people.   The California Valley Jurisdiction was founded in 1969  in response to need for a Central Valley-based COGIC jurisdiction. Founding leaders were the late Bishop Warren A. Wilson and Supervisor of the Women's Department, Mother A. Folsom. In 2020, the Jurisdiction celebrates 50 years of ministry.  Bishop Samuel Doyle retired as the jurisdiction prelate in February 2024 and  was emeritized in April 2024 by the Church of God in Christ.  Presiding Bishop Sheard and the General Board named First Assistant Presiding Bishop Jerry Wayne Macklin as the Interim Prelate.
