THE MISSION OF COGIC URBAN INITIATIVES (UI) IS TO EMPOWER THE LOCAL CHURCH TO IMPLEMENT PROGRAMS THAT ADDRESS EDUCATION, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, CRIME, FAMILY AND FINANCIAL LITERACY. THOSE PROGRAMS WILL RESULT IN MEASURABLE IMPROVEMENT IN THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR INDIVIDUALS, FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES SERVED BY THE CHURCH OF GOD IN CHRIST. WE WILL DO THIS BY IDENTIFYING AND REPLICATING BEST PRACTICES FROM OUR CHURCHES AS WELL AS EXTERNAL RESOURCES, AND MAKING THEM EASILY AVAILABLE TO ALL CHURCHES UTILIZING TECHNOLOGY AND OTHER RESOURCES.

From the California Valley Jurisdictional UI Coordinator, Sister Candice Hill :
God Bless All,
Attached is the CA Valley Jurisdiction Urban Initiative (UI) Asset Survey for participation and returning. During last year's Leadership Conference in Bakersfield, Bishop Doyle and Pastor Harris gave me space to announce that this survey was in the working stages...and finally it is here. If you have updated emails of department heads and members please feel free to forward this entire message with attachment.
Asset Survey Purpose:
The results of the CA Valley Jurisdiction UI Asset Survey will:
1. Act as a skill set search list for all CVJ department leaders for the primary purpose of kingdom building, strategic planning and implementing vision by answering the “who can” question.
2. Centralize a referral system for members within the CVJ through the Urban Initiative Dept.
3. Expose skill sets and human capital within our jurisdiction for member support.
Contact information is requested in the attachment for UI referral resources and services within CVJ. Note that this survey only becomes an asset if your name and an email or phone number is provided.
