Keynote Speaker Dr. Natasha Baker
In 2022, Dr. Natasha Baker joined Fresno Unified School District as Chief Academic Officer. In that role, Dr. Baker leads Fresno Unified’s instructional division, supporting eight departments with combined budgets of more than $500 million, over 100 schools, 70,000+ students, and thousands of educators.
Previously, Dr. Baker has served as the superintendent for Banning Unified School District, a public school system in Southern California with 4,500 students and 500 staff. She has also served as deputy superintendent of Hazelwood School District where she was responsible for leading, planning, organizing, and supporting assigned activities for over 18,000 students and 2,200 staff. When serving as Michigan Department of Education’s deputy superintendent of education services and the state’s school reform officer, Dr. Baker led aspects of the state’s legislated accountability system impacting over 100,000 students across 72 school districts in 186 public schools.
Dr. Natasha Baker holds a bachelor’s degree in English education and a teaching credential in English from California State University, Long Beach. Her master's degree in English is from Howard University, and she holds a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Michigan—Dearborn. She will soon complete a Master of Science in Finance from the Carey Business School at Johns Hopkins University.
